Another economical tablet has arrived in the market. Kobian, a computer peripherals maker, has launched an Android-powered budget tablet called iXA Tab, especially designed for the growing number of students and masses. It has been priced at Rs. 3,999 and will go on pre-orders starting May 23, 2012.
The iXA Tab allows web surfing, access to one’s e-mail, viewing videos, music, games, e-books and much more. The Ultrathin iXA Tab comes loaded with Android 2.3, weighs 341 gm, sports a resistive touchscreen and is powered by a 1 GHz core processor, 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage, which is expandable to 32 GB through microSD.
The tablet also features Wi-Fi that allows users to access Internet, work on emails, video chat and much more at all Wi-Fi enabled spots. The built-in 0.3 MP camera allows one to capture those moments and also video chat.
The exact availability of the tablet will be announced on May 23, 2012. It joins the bandwagon of economical tablets in the market from companies such as Micromax, Datawind, HCL and Mercury. This tablet will compete directly with Datawind’s UbiSlate 7C tablet, another soon to be released tablet in this price bracket.
Market for economical tablets is hotting up and we do knot know how many more such tablets are on way to the market. Now, entry level users have lot of choices to pick their device. But the prospective customer must give due consideration to the strength of the manufacturers plus their after sales service support.
