In order to woo its customers and make its smartphones more useful for metropolitan cities, Nokia has added a new feature to its location-based services, enabling its smartphone users in Delhi and Mumbai to get real-time traffic updates in their cities.
“Powered by NAVTEQ Traffic Pro, the ‘traffic feature’ will offer users detailed information on traffic speeds on motorways, main and secondary roads and enable users to plan their travel and save time and fuel and frustration,” Nokia Director Sales (Location and Commerce) Rajat Tandon informed the media in New Delhi.
This service would be available on select Nokia smartphones like Nokia N8, Nokia 700, Nokia 701, Nokia E6, Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710. It can be accessed through ‘Nokia Drive’ on a Symbian device and ‘Nokia Maps’ on Windows devices. Added plus point is that this service is available free of cost and the user will have to just pay for the data charges to use the service, Tandon said.
This added feature will be very useful for the road users in Delhi and Mumbai, who have to spend lot of time in traffic snarls up and this feature will give them sufficient idea to plan their motoring and management of their precious time on the roads.
