Saavn (South Asian Audio Video Network) is a digital music service that is accessed across the world for Indian music. The company has launched its much-anticipated Saavn Pro subscription service for Android. Saavn Pro allows music lovers to enjoy their favorite tunes commercial-free and offline, which is great for areas where cellular connections are unavailable.
This service was Officially launched in Google Play on 17th July. Saavn Pro will bring its vast selection of Indian music to the company’s significant user bases in India, the United States, the UK, and other major markets. The majority of Saavn’s catalog of approximately 1.1 million tracks will be available on Saavn Pro, with thousands of new tracks being added every month.
Saavn’s extensive collection of music includes the latest releases, like “Babli Badmaash,” Himmatwala, Kai Po Che, Mere Dad Ki Maruti, Race 2, Khiladi 786, Student of the Year, Murder 3,Ek Tha Tiger, Vicky Donor, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Cocktail; classic favorites, like Dabangg, Om Shanti Om, Jab We Met, Singh is Kinng, Taal, and Veer-Zaara; and features artists like A. R. Rahman, Yash Chopra, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Atif Aslam, Shreya Ghoshal, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, and Priyanka Chopra.
Saavn Pro is the first premium music product to launch for the Android market in India, where the vast majority (approximately 60 percent) of Saavn’s audience listens to music via their mobile phones. Unlike many other subscription services, users can opt-in to Saavn Pro directly on their mobiles.
The launch of Saavn Pro for Android follows the company’s wildly successful launch on iOS earlier this year in March. Saavn Pro on iOS is already one of the top-grossing music apps in the iTunes India Store.
Following a 30-day free trial, users can subscribe to Saavn Pro for Rs 220 per month directly through their Google user account. In addition to Saavn Pro, Saavn has also launched a new premium subscription service called Saavn Pro Lite, which is a cheaper option of Saavn Pro, available only to Indian users it lets users cache up to 1 GB of music on a single device for INR 110 per month.

- Offline Downloads: Subscribers can listen on up to 5 devices per account
- Ad-Free Listening: Music streams without interruptions from advertising, whether logged in on Saavn Music or at Saavn.com
- Sync Over Cellular: Users can opt to use WiFi or a cellular data connection to catch music for offline listening
- Pro Audio: Access to the highest quality music (320 kbps) will be added to the product in the coming weeks
Through direct partnerships with Google and Facebook, Saavn reaches more music fans than any other South Asian music service – having generated over 2 billion story impressions on Facebook’s Open Graph alone.
