Alongside Galaxy Note 4, Samsung also launched today its latest Gear S smartwatch, which is driven by Samsung’s own Tizen Wearable OS. The Galaxy Gear S is priced at Rs. 28,900 and will start selling in India from 17th October.
The Samsung Gear S features a 2-inch curved Super AMOLED display (360 x 480). It allows users to read messages and notifications at a single glance with features such as conversation view and condensed font. This device is powered by a 1.0 GHz Dual Core processor, coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. It is packed with 300mAh Li-ion battery.
For connectivity options, the Samsung Gear S offers 3G plus Data SIM connectivity , Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, allowing users to stay informed with seamless notifications from social networks, calendars and applications even when away from their phone. It lets users to instantly reply to incoming messages using the onscreen keyboard, or utilize enhanced S voice functionality to ensure tasks can be completed immediately. You can also make and receive calls directly from this device, or get calls forwarded from the smartphones as it can be paired to your smartphone.The Galaxy Gear S’s GPS enables turn-by-turn navigation, guiding you to your destination like a tour guide.
The Samsung Gear S is also a perfect health and fitness companion and has robust S Health features. It tracks your sitting time, reminding you to get up and stretch or go for a walk to keep your activity level up. Gear S comes with multiple sensors to help you, including a heart rate monitor, Gyroscope, Barometer and a UV sensor that warns you when the UV index is too high. In addition, applications such as Nike+ Running allow users to track their runs and stay motivated while on the move, without their smartphone.
The Gear S has platinum plated bezels and has curved design. This smartwatch fit comfortably around the contours of the wrist. This watch has customizable screen options and changeable straps for the wearer to select the same as per one’s taste and style. Users also have the option of buying Swarovski edition straps, the price of which was not revealed by Samsung.This device is IP67 certified dust and water resistant.
Samsung has also launched today in India new Samsung Gear Circle. When paired with a smartphone, users can easily receive calls, listen to music, and make voice commands in style through a Bluetooth connection. It features a magnetic lock which clasps around the user’s neck when not in use, as well as a vibrate function to signal incoming calls and notifications.
