At an event in New Delhi, Xiaomi has launched today the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 which sports a 5.99-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. This phone was launched in China recently as Redmi S2. The Redmi Y2comes in two variants of 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and a 4GB RAM with 64GB ROM. Internal storage of both the variants can be extended upto 256GB via microSD card.
On the specifications front, the Redmi Y2 is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2GHz with Adreno 506 GPU. This phone is packed with 3,080mAh battery. This phone has Dual SIM + dedicated microSD card slot expandable upto 256GB.d
This phone is mounted with dual camera setup at the back. It has 12MP primary rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and secondary 5MP camera for depth of field and producing bokeh effects. For selfies, this phone is equipped with a 16-megapixel AI-powered front camera with beauty feature.
This phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.5 on top. It also incorporates fingerprint sensor at the back and face unlocks feature. This is Dual SIM supporting phone and also offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802/11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, micro USB 2.0 and an IR blaster.
Available in Gold, Rose gold and Dark grey colors, this phone is pried Rs. 9999 for the 3GB + 32GB version while the 4GB + 64GB version is priced at Rs.12,999. A TPU case will be shipped in the box with every Redmi Y2.
Redmi Y2 will go on sale 12PM on 12th June at Mi.com, Amazon.in and Mi Home stores across the country. It will also be available across offline partners at a later date.
